Fatima Sambo Schoenfelder was born and raised in NYC by way of Ghana. She is an arts educator, puppeteer and a children’s book author and illustrator. She graduated from the LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and the Performing Arts and Hunter College with a BA in Film. She later became a textile designer for Macy’s and in 2007, Fatima participated in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, where she played an astronaut on a float. There she met the cast of Sesame Street. A spark had ignited in Fatima. She wanted to serve children and families through education in the arts with family based entertainment.
Currently she's a puppeteer at the Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre. With her multidisciplinary talents, she brings "The Dandelion’s Wish," based on her children’s book of the same name.
